Frequently asked questions
What counts as an email?
Each message sent via the API counts as one email. Batch sends count per recipient. Webhook deliveries, tracking pixels, and template renders do not count.
Do broadcast emails count against my limit?
No. Broadcast emails (marketing, newsletters) are sent through a separate stream and do not count against your transactional email quota.
What about dedicated IPs?
Available as a $30/month add-on on Growth and Scale. Managed pools are auto-provisioned and warmed by AWS; enterprise customers can request standard dedicated pools for full reputation isolation.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Changes take effect immediately. Downgrades are prorated. No lock-in, no contracts.
Can AI agents send through Relay?
Yes. Every plan includes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint, so agents in Claude, Cursor, or your own tools can send email, check deliverability, and look up messages — no glue code required.
